Steve heads up the lettings division at The Nottingham, and has over 17 years’ experience in the lettings industry. Steve is highly qualified in lettings and has the ARLA accreditation – meaning he keeps up-to-date with all legislation and changes in the property market.
Steve feels it is a winning formula being part of the Nottingham Building Society, as it gives the added security for our lettings customers to know they are in safe hands, as well as giving them all landlord and tenant services under one roof. Steve has played rugby for many years, and loves the camaraderie and positive spirit associated with it, which he brings into his day-to-day work with his lettings team.
Cath has worked in the rental sector for over 20 years and enjoys all aspects of the job. She said the best part of the job is working with such a great team, getting to speak to different people on a daily basis and helping to resolve maintenance issues. Cath enjoys spending time with family and friends.

The longest serving staff member of the HM Lettings team. George has experience in residential sales and has brought his negotiating and property appraisal skills through to lettings over the past ten years. He has seen the lettings business grow exponentially in his time and is looking forward to new structure and software under the umbrella of the Nottingham Building Society now adding to the further growth of the brand and company. An associate member of ARLA with a hunger to learn more and impart his experience to others. Away from the office George enjoys cycling and spending time with his family.

Joy has worked for HM Lettings for well over three years now in a number of lettings roles and has been a property manager for the last two years. Previously Joy worked in student and professional lettings in the West Bridgford area of Nottingham for a total of nine years covering all aspects of the lettings industry and so has a wealth of experience. She is a dedicated and professional individual who is committed to her work and is noted for her customer service. Joy has a BA Hons degree in Business Studies from Trent University specialising in Statistics and Marketing, and has experience in many other areas of business, including the finance sector – which makes her a great all-rounder. It was said of Joy by a recruitment company that ‘if Joy was a stick of rock, she would have ‘LETTINGS’ written all the way through the middle. Outside of work, Joy enjoys reading and going to the theatre, having a background in music and drama in her younger days.
Penny is an experienced lettings negotiator with nearly two years’ experience in this area. She takes pride in her work and enjoys helping people in finding their new home and making the entire process as easy and stress free as possible. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and following her league one football team.

Schiennel is relatively new to the property industry; she has been part of the HM Lettings team for 6 months as a lettings coordinator. Schiennel has worked within the property sector for the last year and a half. She previously worked for one of the biggest estate agency firms in the UK. Schiennel also has a BA hons degree in Business Studies from Derby University. Outside of work Schiennel enjoys going to the local gym or spending time with friends and family.
Laura Janes is head of property management for HM Lettings based at our head office. Laura initially joined the Nottingham Building Society as a customer reviewer, and this experience and knowledge proved invaluable when moving over to the lettings side of the business. Laura has excellent communication and customer service skills and an ability to provide a positive outcome in all situations. Laura has a useful background in Psychology, having achieved a Bsc (Hons) in Psychology with Criminology from Trent University. Outside of work, Laura enjoys socialising with family and friends, cooking and going to the gym.

Rachel joined HM Lettings in August as a property manager, having previously worked in Care Homes for 12 years in a variety of roles, but, most recently as senior home manager for a care home charity in Northumberland. Rachel brings with her a wealth of life experience and is a highly organised, practical and empathetic individual who finds it easy to develop strong, amicable and productive relationships with landlords, tenants and members of staff of all levels. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys sewing, travelling, watching drama, singing and is a regular member of a choir.

Marc is a very experienced lettings manager with over eight years’ experience under his belt. He prides himself in being a local expert within the lettings industry and ensuring the customer experience is stress and hassle free. Marc likes to spend time with his family, and enjoys watching the local ice hockey team (the Nottingham Panthers).
Kate has over a year’s worth of experience in both sales and lettings and so can see the whole picture when it comes to the Buy-to-Let market, and what both property owners and renters want. Kate went to the University of Chichester and studied Ba Hons in Dance. Kate recently purchased a flat with her boyfriend, and is loving life and ready to start a successful career!
Lyndell has worked in the lettings industry for over nine years along with 20 years travel agent experience. Lyndell loves fulfilling each customers property needs whether letting or renting. Has a great knowledge of the Northamptonshire property market. Mother of two daughters. Fine artist and specialise in pastels and oil painting. Lyndsell is looking forward to getting married in Cyprus this September.
Having done property management with Harrison Murray for almost a year, Shana progressed to become the new full-time lettings negotiator for the Leicester branch this year. She’s always worked in customer service with Harrison Murray and previous jobs, gaining useful skills and experience. Shana has good experience within both ends of lettings, from managing properties and maintenance, to negotiating and working front end with new and existing customers. She has a serious pizza addiction and loves her puppy Alfie.
Emily has been a part of the lettings team for nearly five years, working part time to suit her needs as a mother of two young children. Emily has a BSc in Business and Hospitality Management and plenty of hospitality experience, adding much value to the role as a lettings negotiator. Having previously worked with the Harrison Murray sales team in Leicester, lettings was an area she wanted to progress in and really enjoys. In her spare time Emily likes to cook, travel, go to the gym and spend time with her family.
